The Psychosis song “Building Empires” will appear on tonight’s episode of Community at 8pm on NBC.  The song received a makeover at the request of the show’s production team in the form of some new lyrics, which Bruce recorded specifically for the episode.  It’s a comedy TV show and it’s also their Halloween episode so let’s just say that the new lyrics involve both partying and the devil.  Watch it live tonight or set your DVR and check it out!

Classic Psychosis Mini-Album “Lifeforce” Gets Digital Release

Los Angeles Thrash band Psychosis recently made their classic mini-album “Lifeforce” available digitally for the first time. The 1992 release features 6 tracks of heavy, aggressive, melodic Thrash, including the song “Cold Is This God”, which was later re-recorded by Prototype for their “Continuum” album. The digital release of “Lifeforce” is now available on iTunes, Amazon.com, CD Baby and other digital retailers.

Psychosis released their latest EP, simply titled “Psychosis” in 2010. The band is currently working on more new material, recording pre-production demos for a full length album.

Los Angeles Thrash Band Psychosis has contributed two songs to the new Tony Hawk Shred video game, released by Activision on October 26th.  Instrumental versions of the tracks “Face Of War” and “Building Empires”, both from their recent Psychosis EP, appear on the game’s soundtrack.  More information on the video game and its soundtrack can be found here: http://www.shredgame.com/music/.

The 3 song Psychosis EP CD was released on April 6th, 2010, and can be previewed and purchased directly from the Psychosis Myspace site here: http://www.myspace.com/psychosisthrash.  The EP was also recently released digitally and can currently be purchased via CD Baby here: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/psychosis.  The digital release of Psychosis contains the 3 tracks found on the CD plus instrumental versions of the tracks as featured in the Tony Hawk Shred video game.

Psychosis is currently recording demos of more material that will appear on their as yet untitled forthcoming album release.

L.A. was thriving in the 80s. How wouldn’t it, since every poser
showed his face at least once a day at Sunset Strip, where there was a
fashion show of clothes, hairstyles, masks, shoes, etc. Five, six
years in a row. Luckily there were also some metalheads there, playing
their instruments and not giving a fuck about looks. Bands like
Slayer, Dark Angel, Tracer, Viking and of course Metallica (who
couldn’t take the pressure and moved to SF. The area gave birth to
many great and well known bands. One of the less known, obscure acts
from that area is Psychosis. Read the rest of this entry »
